David McAllister
Expat retiree, Bangkok
I used the Records Digitisation service after accumulating about twelve years of pension correspondence, property documents, and visa paperwork. The folder structure we agreed on beforehand was exactly what I received — nothing was renamed or reorganised in ways I hadn't expected. The whole process took about a week and the originals came back in good order. What I particularly valued was that they deleted their working copies without me having to chase. I got a confirmation email when it was done.

I bought a Process Walkthrough Guide on social security registration — I'd been putting it off because every time I tried to read the official website it just made me more confused. The guide walked me through it clearly. One step was a bit out of date (a form number had changed), and when I contacted them about it they updated the guide and sent me the corrected version the same day. That was reassuring. Would buy another guide for the pension bureau process.

The helpdesk was exactly what I needed. I had a pile of questions about Thai civil registration and what copies of what I actually needed to keep. The person I spoke with was patient, read through my specific situation, and explained each point clearly. They were also very direct about what they couldn't advise on — two of my questions needed a lawyer, and they said so plainly and pointed me toward the right type of practice. I appreciated that more than if they'd tried to answer things they shouldn't.

Returning retiree, Bangkok
I moved back to Bangkok after twenty years in the UK and my documents were a complete mess across two countries and three address changes. The digitisation project sorted all of it. They collected the physical folders from my apartment, did the work, and returned everything within eight working days. I now have a USB drive with a sensible structure and can actually find things when I need them. The price was clear from the start and there were no extras. Exactly what I was hoping for.

I used the helpdesk to understand the general process for renewing a long-stay visa — not to get legal advice on my specific case, but to understand the steps well enough to have a useful conversation with an immigration consultant. The Pensara person explained it clearly and even sent a brief written summary of what we'd discussed. The only thing I'd mention is that the turnaround on email responses was occasionally next-day rather than same-day. Nothing wrong with that, just worth knowing.

I bought a guide on registering with a Thai government pension body. The steps were laid out plainly and the links to official pages were all working. My situation turned out to be a bit unusual and the guide didn't cover it fully, so I emailed a follow-up question. They responded the next morning with a clear explanation. I didn't expect that level of follow-up to be included at no extra cost. Would come back if I need to understand another process.

Case Studies
How the work played out
Case Study — Records Digitisation
The situation
A British national who had lived in Thailand for fourteen years had documents across multiple folders, several loose in a box, and some on an old laptop that was no longer working. He knew important records were somewhere in the collection but couldn't reliably find them.
What we did
We collected the physical materials, agreed a folder structure covering four main categories (identity & residency, property, pension & finance, correspondence), scanned 214 documents with OCR, and returned the organised digital set on a USB drive alongside all originals.
The outcome
The client could locate any document within a few seconds of searching. The project took nine working days. He subsequently shared the drive with his daughter overseas so she had access to key records if needed. Working copies deleted within three days of acceptance.
"I can now find my long-stay permit extension from 2019 in about ten seconds. Before this, I wasn't even sure I still had it."
Case Study — Helpdesk
The situation
A Thai national returning after a long career abroad had questions about reactivating a domestic pension registration, accessing civil registry documents, and general administrative steps for re-establishing residency. She wasn't sure which questions needed professional advice and which were simply informational.
What we did
Over three weeks of helpdesk access, we answered nine questions by email. Six were general informational queries we addressed from official sources. Three touched on matters requiring a professional — we identified the appropriate type of practitioner for each and helped the client understand what questions to ask them.
The outcome
The client entered her professional consultations better prepared, with a clearer understanding of the landscape and the specific questions she needed answered. She reported that the consultant appointments were noticeably more productive as a result.
"I stopped feeling like I was walking into every meeting without knowing what I was supposed to be asking."
Case Study — Walkthrough Guide
The situation
A French national approaching retirement wanted to understand the general process for requesting certified copies of civil status documents from Thai public registries. The official website was available only in Thai and the translated summaries he found online were inconsistent with each other.
What we did
We produced a plain-language walkthrough guide covering the general steps for requesting civil registry documents, the offices involved, typical documentation required, and the appropriate official website references — all in clear English, drawn directly from official Thai government sources.
The outcome
The guide was delivered within four working days. The client used it to prepare before visiting the relevant office, arrived with the right documents, and completed the process in a single visit. He subsequently purchased a second guide for a different administrative step.
"I'd been putting this off for six months. Having it written out as a clear list made it feel manageable."
